first off, i had nothing of substance to say. as a young man i wanted to say something. i feel i had the wisdom to hold my tongue until something to say came along. funny, isn't it? how we can want to say something without something to be said? so i waited.
well, here it is, years later. i have been accumulating scraps of notes and stories and thoughts and philosophies (part of which was entering into the blog realm, to divert myself, which i thought was perhaps where i was supposed to be writing -on the internet and not for the page).
i have just finished 'the thousand faces of the hero' by joseph campbell (the book that initialized star wars - you know star wars, right?).
i think lucas lost the message in the later three movies. he reverted to science, and didn't really know about the spirit of community (apparently). i myself had to be taught the proper interpretation of freud's oedipal complex by campbell.
well, here's the revelation: i have the material for the story (it's a story, not a book - a book can be limited by the medium, a story cannot). thanks to campbell, i have a template for it now. so, like a carpenter needs a jig, i need the purpose of the myths to help me understand the full meaning of the coordinate system (purpose) of the myths to humankind to set the minor stories in their proper alignment. thanks campbell! ( i hope i do him justice).
so far i have no readers (that i know of). hopefully that's good. if there are any aliens from the moon reading this, ingo swann was right :)
i guess it's time to break a few eggs. ironically, by getting on here, i have already done that. now it's time to work. thanks for the props, anyone who's listening!
